We are a congregation of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS).
The Wisconsin Synod derives its name from the fact that the Synod was organized in Wisconsin in the 1850’s, a fact that is still reflected by the heavy concentration of its membership in the Midwest. The WELS is the third largest Lutheran Church body in the United States with congregations and schools throughout the United States and throughout the world. Our school system is the fourth largest private school system in the country.
As a congregation we are striving to be a family where God is glorified and his saving message is shared with all people
We do not claim to be the only saving church, but we do strive to preserve and to pass on the truth as it is found in the Bible. Amazing Grace Lutheran Church believes, teaches that:
¨The Bible is the inspired Word of God, His unchanging and inerrant message to people of all times.
¨There is only one God. He is three distinct and separate persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (1Cor.8:4; Mt.28:19)
¨We have utterly failed to do what God wants and requires of us, and therefore we are sinners who deserve to be punished. (Rom.3:10-11)
¨God is merciful! In love sent his Son, Jesus Christ to save us - not by telling us what to do - but by doing it for us! (Gal.2:16, 2Cor.5:21)
¨Jesus redeemed us, that is he delivered us from sin, death and the power of the devil. (1John 2:2)
¨This wonderful fact is ours through faith in Jesus which is worked in our hearts by the Holy Spirit through the gospel in Word and Sacrament. (Rm.10:17; 1Pet.3:21; Mt.26:28)
Through this faith in Jesus we are heirs of the glories of heaven. While yet here on earth we want to show our love to him who first loved us.
